Our mission

ImproveGutHealth.org publishes practical, evidence-aware guides about gut health, the gut microbiome, and digestive conditions. Our goal is to translate primary research into clear, actionable information — and to be transparent about the strength of the evidence behind every claim.

Sourcing standards

Review process

Every article is reviewed by the ImproveGutHealth editorial team before and after publication for citation accuracy, internal consistency, and clinical-safety wording (for example, clear escalation guidance on when to see a clinician). Articles display an updated date reflecting their last meaningful review.

We are in the process of adding a named author and named medical reviewer to every article, with per-article review dates and reviewer credentials. This page and our about page will link to those credentials once in place.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Content is educational. Decisions about medications, supplements, or diets — especially for people with existing conditions, on prescription drugs, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding — should be made with a qualified clinician.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly. If you find a factual or citation error, contact us with the article URL and the specific claim. Substantive corrections are applied to the article and reflected in its updated date.

Content maintenance

We periodically review, update, and consolidate our article library. When two overlapping articles are merged, the retired URL permanently redirects (HTTP 301) to the surviving article so no reader hits a dead end.
